He didn’t just overcome; he launched a movement in its wake. Inspired by the UK drill-style production from London producer AXL Beats, he went hard on 2017’s “Suburban.” Crowned “the first Brooklyn Drill song worth a damn” by Pitchfork, it fostered the explosion of the entire New York drill scene. In 2019, 22Gz’s debut, The Blixky Tape, cemented his style and stature as a pioneer.
In 2020, he releases Growth \u0026 Development. “Growth \u0026 Development is an homage to my truth and a testament to all of the hard work in the past couple of years,” he states. “I’m cleaning up my reputation, making the best music I can, and growing and developing as an artist."
